IEEE Standards University Program Manager, Standards Piscataway, NJ
Job Summary The successful candidate will curate and manage content on the IEEE Standards University website. Primary responsibilities include finding and managing interactions with content providers, as well as content delivery and maintenance for the IEEE Standards University. The incumbent also translates the overall set strategy, defines requirements for the growth of Standards content and establishes new relationships.
The Program Manager keeps the supervisor informed with action items on controversial or otherwise impactful matters. He or she must have the knowledge and experience to determine which matters are the most impactful. The incumbent is expected to interpret policies and determine how to apply them to specific situations, as well as negotiate with vendors to find solutions to complex situations. The incumbent will also have the authority to provide recommendations to amend policies for the function.
Ensure growth of content on the IEEE Standards University (ISU) website.
Curate and update website content.
Find and manage partners and reviewers, communicate to customers what content is available, and keep content up to date.
Research and analyze success of curated/posted content for improvement.
Oversee editing of the e-Magazine, including working with the volunteer Editor-in-Chief to establish editorial priorities/schedules, contacting potential authors, and ensuring copyright compliance.
Source and oversee the work of consultants and vendors.
Provide full cycle project management for various programs, including standards education videos, Practical Tips for Professors, curriculum development projects, and competitions.
Create project plans, budgets and schedules and ensure on-time completion of projects.
Support IEEE Standards Education participation in Standards Education conferences (e.g. Capstone Design Conference, ICES, SES).
Manage logistics for the IEEE Standards Education Committee Workshops and webinars.
Handle procurement paperwork and invoicing.
Source and manage the IEEE Standards Education Speakers Bureau.
Help authors of books and articles to manage their projects, including time management, finding sources, graphics, andassisting with permissions.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with IEEE-SA partners (e.g. Marketing, Learning Community) to promote programs.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with IEEE partners, including Educational Activities, Young Professionals, IEEE.tv, and Technical Activities for events and programs.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with committee members and other IEEE volunteers.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with education vendors.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Education, or similar.
7+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience in delivering continuing education to adults is a plus.
Project management experience.
Experience in planning and managing content.
WordPress or similar experience.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Computer software skills.
Social media skills.
Knowledge of video production.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Good presentation skills for educating internal and external customers.
Strong project management skills, including leading and participating in projects.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to interact with volunteers, staff and vendors, as well as work with volunteers.
Demonstrated interest in or knowledge of technical matters.
Some international and domestic travel required.
