Job Title: Digital Communications Associate
Reports to: Chief Strategist, Communications
FLSA Status: Nonexempt, Full-time
The tech savvy Digital Communications Associate focuses on providing website design & maintenance, graphic design and content creation. Ability to create visual concepts using computer software. Actively support and help direct the evolving, communications related needs of our valued clients. Collaborate with Communications Team to create cohesive visual statements that tell powerful stories. Ensure adherence to Verto Solutions brand standards and guidelines.
Serves as a daily point of contact for client website additions, edits and improvements.
Develops event microsites, upload content, update web-based materials and create new pages on the website.
Proactively monitors sites for errors, upload security software, and track and troubleshoot technical issues.
Helps develop new graphic identities for digital and print content for association clients’ meetings, events and member marketing materials.
Monitors production timelines for assigned projects in partnership with Communications Team and communicate and coordinate with others regarding individual responsibilities and deadlines.
Develops and actively manages high value vendor relationships.
Assists with maintaining clients’ social media presence for select clients.
Assists with assembly and distribution of digital email messages to client membership.
Monitor and upload software to ensure optimal performance.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, graphic design, mass communications, visual design or digital marketing.
A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in digital communications is required.
Trade association or non-profit experience preferred.
Vendor management experience highly preferred.
Evidence of experience working in various content management systems required.
Familiarity with html/css and basic web server management required.
Experience with at least one email marketing tool such as Magnet mail or Mail Chimp is desired.
Competence in all applications within Microsoft Office Suite required.
Experience with web site software updating and must be willing to further develop website design and maintenance skills.
Graphic design know-how required; specifically concerning a sound knowledge and practical experience of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
Experience incorporating video and Flash technology into web and graphic design projects also preferred.
Experience using Drupal and WordPress required.
Exemplary proofreading skills required.
Candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; be extremely detail oriented, creative, resourceful, solution driven, graceful under pressure, and able to take initiative.
