The Learning & Development Manager will work in IMA’s Education & Career Services (ECS) team and will design, launch and manage continuing education products that are engaging and high quality for our accounting and financial professional members.
Build Leadership Academy (and possibly other) continuing education courses to be delivered in live workshops and/or online
Use product development cycle process to assess audience needs, develop relevant learning objectives, determine product design and structure, oversee the creation of courses that ensure accuracy from an accounting and adult learning perspective
Work cross functionally with subject matter experts, vendors, and internal team members to create and launch courses
Oversee vendor/consultant contracts, work output, and associated expenses relating to course development
Manage IMA’s Leadership Academy volunteer team including coordinating meetings and faculty engagements
Understand IMA’s strategic vision and the products, services, and learning platforms offered to our members
Lead and/or participate on a variety of IMA projects relating to providing value to IMA members
Develop/maintain continuous improvement mechanisms and reports for launched products
Monitor the accuracy of ECS related information on the IMA website.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or Training discipline
4-6 years of experience in Learning and Development, Training and/or Accounting role
Experience in designing and developing continuing education products for adults; live workshops and/or online courses
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting
Strong project management skills including developing plans and ensuring timely and quality implementation
Strong writing, editing and presentation skills
Creative, agile and independent thinking processes
Significant attention to details
Ability to handle multiple and shifting priorities
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Hold (or preparing for) one of more of the following certifications: CMA, CPLP, or CPA (preferred requirement)
Knowledge of online courseware development software such as Storyline (preferred requirement)
