The Scholarship Program Manager manages the daily operations of the Scholarship Department and scholarship programs, special initiatives, and outcomes, and is directly responsible for the Alumni and Heroes Tribute Programs. Oversees and executes the implementation, administration, and monitoring of all programs, processes, and procedures. This position works across all departments of the Foundation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage daily operations of Annual Scholarship Program and all additional scholarship programs with an annual award budget of $7+ million.
Manage the annual application, awarding, and Award Acceptance process for 3,000+ applicants with an average yearly growth of 3%. Provide support for external inquiries, payment processing, and scholarship fund matching. Monitor and track graduation rate, impact of awards, and other measurements of success.
Support research related to program effectiveness, growth, impact, deficiencies, strategic planning, and the development of new and existing programs. Provide recommendations and statistical analysis of data through prepared reports and implement modifications. Maintain and ensure all documentation for department processes and procedures remain current.
Support Foundation operations and fundraising efforts by providing scholarship data, information, scholar details, and other pertinent items organization-wide and to external stakeholders.
Identify, locate, and register wounded Marine families and surviving Marine families for participation in the Heroes Tribute Scholarship Program for Children of the Fallen and Wounded. Develop and maintain systems for cultivating and maintaining relationships with participants in the Heroes Tribute program. Serve as subject matter expert on services, benefits, and other programs available to specific population. Serve as a resource and liaison to educate, communicate, and connect Scholarship Foundation staff to the community.
Oversee and manage the Alumni Program to include: LinkedIn account management and content development; data management; surveys; reports; monthly phone calls to thank alumni donors; communication and solicitation efforts; and the development and implementation of future phases of the program.
Support and coordinate outreach efforts to increase the number of applicants within the Scholarship Foundation’s target population(s) as determined by the Board of Directors. Oversee distribution of print and electronic materials to identified audiences and external stakeholders. Work with Chief Brand Officer to support marketing efforts toward target population(s).
Serve as a scholarship, financial aid, and higher education subject matter expert. Remain current on latest developments in scholarship program management, national higher education issues, best practices, and how they impact our scholars and the Foundation. Build and foster partner relationships with organizations and entities that also support education, veteran services, and financial aid.
Manage department communications and outreach to applicants and scholars via e-mail blasts, text messaging, and social media (where applicable). Ensure the scholarship section of Foundation’s website, scholarship application website, and scholar’s portal remains current, relevant, and focused. Work with Communications Department and Vendor to ensure all updates are made.
Compile speaker, alumni, wounded Marine, Gold Star Family, and scholar guest options for 40+ national events, write bios on participants, and assist in coordinating attendance at Scholarship Foundation events.
Manage electronic files and oversee management of data records for all program participants.
Serve as secondary contract administrator for all department vendors.
