Communications/Editorial, Customer Service and Support, Membership
JOB SUMMARY: The part-time Membership Coordinator will be a self starter that will develop, implement and manage retention and recruitment strategies to meet the membership objectives and goals of the association. This role ensures timely and effective communication and promotion of the association's vision/mission through articles in the newsletters, general mailings, phone calls, promotional materials, campaigns, social and other media. This highly visible role will actively collaborate with the Executive Director, office team members and various committees to develop ideas and build a consistent and effective message to defined target markets. The right candidate would be strongly considered for a full time position.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Membership Recruiting -Devises recruiting campaigns in conjunction with the membership committee. -Organizes prospect member lists from various sources including the General Contractor (GC) Council members, current members, LinkedIn and other resources, etc. -Implements programs designed to attract and retain qualified companies. -Prepares scripts for follow-up calls by volunteers and other communications. -Coordinates recruitment by written correspondence and follows up with prospective members via phone and email -Review current materials and works with office team to design and supervise preparation of membership packets. -Manages other projects as directed. -Attends a minimum of 5 non-ASAC events a year (such as pre-bid meetings, trade shows and other events where recruiting can be accomplished).
Membership Retention - Develops strategy and outreach to existing members to ensure they are able to capitalize on membership benefits and resources. - Engages members through regular communication and volunteerism opportunities. - Develops and executes marketing campaign(s) to explain benefits of association to non-active members. - Works with Membership Committee on various retention programs. - Manages communication campaign for members “at risk.” - Work with Executive Director on other duties as directed.
Membership Administration -Maintains database of prospective members. -Manages communication campaign for first year members. -Maintains monthly membership report for membership committee and Executive Director, which includes summarizing on paid dues, at risk and dropped members and other reports of interest for membership committee. -Conducts exit interview to resigned or dropped members.
Other -Acts as staff liaison at monthly membership committee meeting and other committee meetings as directed by Executive Director. -Attends monthly events / meeting and other events and acts as ambassador for prospective members. -Assists with organization activities and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or related field or 5 years in the non-profit sector with some knowledge of construction contractors. • Extreme detail orientation. • Demonstrated excellence in follow through skills. • Software experience: Intermediate skill level Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
