The Vice President of Operations for the American Supply Association is responsible for supporting and executing the association’s strategic vision and objectives as set forth by the volunteer leadership. Additional responsibilities include managing direct staff reports in the areas of membership recruitment and retention, business intelligence, and engagement activities such as the annual convention and other meetings, the manufacturer sponsorship program, divisions, special interest groups, and regions. Demonstrated strong sales skills and marketing experience will be essential to assist in driving ASA’s ability to effectively connect with the industry and ensure efficient delivery of ASA’s mission.
Support the CEO’s ability to effectively strategize and successfully accomplish the goals and objectives established by the association leadership.
Create and oversee budgets to ensure association success.
Deliver a national, multi-year plan to build a highly successful membership recruitment and development effort in all membership classes. The plan will include a defined and engaged multi-level recruitment approach that includes the maintenance of a robust and accurate database with effective and consistent outreach.
Ensure vital programs that support members’ ability to compete at a high level and as market leaders are developed and implemented.
Support and oversee the annual sponsorship program to ensure that goals are met and participants are receiving value.
Engage members in growing association programs and activities.
Oversee the annual convention and other major events.
Oversee the association’s business intelligence programs to ensure value both externally and internally.
Collaborate with key staff to ensure successful delivery of programs, services and recruitment programs.
Manage and develop direct staff reports to effectively accomplish goals and objectives as assigned and all tasks on time.
Personally meet all agreed upon deadlines without exception.

The VP of Operations is responsible to the Chief Executive officer for all duties and responsibilities contained herein and for other duties that may be assigned during the duration of the employment. Because of the VP of Operations’ involvement in matters and projects related to their responsibilities, she/he is also required to communicate frequently and work directly with other staff as part of a team and in anticipation of their needs.
Directs and coordinates the work of consultants selected to assist the Associations’ in their respective communications and marketing activities and relevant project management responsibilities. As appropriate and otherwise directed, communicates and interacts with volunteer leaders and members, including national, regional, division, committee and council, as well as third-party service providers.
