COMPANY SUMMARY: The Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® is seeking a Member Engagement Specialist. The Association, and its wholly owned subsidiary Heartland MLS, serves over 10,000 members throughout a 15-county area in Kansas and Missouri.
The Member Engagement Specialist is responsible for facilitating the on-boarding process for new KCRAR members, focusing on Affiliates and Sponsors. This position explains the primary benefits of their partnership with KCRAR, and answers questions from current or past members regarding their membership needs. The Member Engagement Specialist, working closely with member volunteers and committees, plans and executes events for over 10,000 members of KCRAR and Heartland MLS. Responsibilities also include serving as staff liaison to committees that help coordinate events, and ensuring events are successful and cost effective.

Meet with members, explains benefits of membership, process membership forms and collect fees. Secure sponsorships and manage the Corporate Affiliate and Individual Affiliate members. Expand Affiliate base to include a wide range of service providers, and develop an enhanced Affiliate search method for members. Provide project management and monitor timelines and deadlines related to all aspects of events and communicate with staff, volunteers, vendors, and members. Coordinate volunteers and staff to execute and evaluate events ensuring improvement and quality customer service. Provide follow-up for sponsors, members, and guests as needed post event. Develop and work within budgets. Serve as staff liaison with committees and task forces assigned; schedule meetings, minutes and providing appropriate follow-up. Negotiate venue, food/beverage, audio visual contracts. Book speakers and manage vendor relations. Work closely with Communication Dept. to create, promote & implement event marketing. Assist in item procurement for annual REALTOR Political Action Committee auction. Manage multiple tasks, while maintaining excellent customer support and prioritizes duties accordingly. Verify accuracy of new and existing member records. Help members make updates to their information and provide proper guidance to members regarding their accounts. Open and close offices in HMLS and KCRAR insuring all the necessary paperwork has been completed and collects HMLS application fee. Field questions from KCRAR and HMLS members by phone and email and assists and/or directs to the appropriate staff person. Responsible for continuously educating themselves on the National Association of REALTORS Member Policies. Contribute ideas and participate in improving the member onboarding process and member experience. Work with Accounting Department to invoice members and pay for event services. Provide support and backup for front desk, store sales, key services, and other miscellaneous duties as necessary.

Experience in event planning, working with committees and/or fundraising.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
