The Advertising Sales Representative (Inside) is responsible for the sale of advertising and sponsorship's within various SHRM media products - including HR Magazine, shrm.org, HR Jobs, newsletters and webcasts. Sales process includes outbound contacts - via phone and email - to leads generated by SHRM's marketing efforts as well as handling inbound inquiries from customers and prospects. This position will also work closely with current outside sales team for both SHRM media and HR Jobs to provide support on key clients. Inside Sales Representative is expected to meet minimum outbound contacts as well as established sales goals helping SHRM achieve its revenue and operating margin targets.
Specific duties include:
Contact prospects through, but not limited to, phone calls, email and mailings to communicate advertising opportunities available through SHRM Media products
Maintain pipeline of new business leads and prospects generated by SHRM media promotional efforts, SHRM Conference and Exhibits as well as prospects assigned by VP, Advertising Sales
Provide support to outside sales team, including but not limited to, follow up on ad materials; preparing RFPs from current clients and agencies, and other duties as needed
Conduct outbound calls to job posters within SHRM's HR Jobs for the purpose of selling upgraded classified advertising
Maintain account records within CRM system
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong business acumen to effectively deal with internal and external clients
Strong oral and written communication skills
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
Knowledge and exposure to online e-commerce preferred
High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's in Business Management or related field preferred.
2 to 5 years of inside sales experience with a Bachelors’ degree, or 6 to 7 years of progressive relevant inside sales experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience with Customer Relation Management systems.
Exposure to online e-commerce preferred but not required.
