Examples of strategic professionals include transaction attorneys, transaction CPAs, Private Equity Groups (PEGs), business appraisers, financial planners & wealth managers, bankers/lenders, and other service & support providers.

The M&A Source members provide services to: Lower middle market companies seeking corporate strategies/solutions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, exit planning, family succession, growth strategies, access to capital, risk reduction, management buy-outs, management buy-ins, and recapitalizations.
Since its founding in 1991, The M&A Source has grown to more than 400 members. The M&A Source operates independently but is technically an operating brand of the International Association of Business Intermediaries (IABI) a Texas based 501 (C) 6 organization.
The Senior Association Manager reports to the Vice President, Association Management Business Unit, of Meeting Expectations, the employer for this position.
Senior Association Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Association Manager for The M&A Source will lead the day to day operations of the team. They will have one full time report and two other shared employees. As a key member of this team, this person will be expected to know policy and procedures, board and committee management, membership marketing strategies, and how to manage an association in an Association Management Company environment.
Beyond those responsibilities, the successful candidate will help develop educational strategy and business plans managing the education and credentialing programs. Educational coursework is primarily delivered at the twice a year conferences conducted in the May and November time frames.
The successful candidate will work with Subject Matter Experts, Committees and key strategic partners to innovate education and attract new audiences. With the help of the Education Committee, you will also ensure that educational programs are up-to-date, accurate, comprehensive and are based on the most current techniques.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive educational strategy, in conjunction with the Executive Director, Board and Education Committees, that leverages existing offerings and introduces new educational opportunities and content.
Manage The M&A Source’s continuing education program development by keeping records of current instructors, version control of materials, managing printing, delivery, and security of attendee and instructor materials on-site at conferences.
Coordinate volunteers of relevant committees, consultants and the management team to:
manage all aspects of association’s educational programming including two annual conferences, webinars, web-based and e-learning initiatives, and other events.
ensure all educational programming is accurately promoted, executed and evaluated; produce management reports for each event addressing all Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics.
manage website content related to educational offerings and products.
Perform regular in-depth program evaluation to ensure educational programming and courseware features top rated speakers and content and is perceived as highly valuable to all stakeholders.
Serve as The M&A Source’s primary point-of-contact in working with alliance partner to introduce and manage certificate/certification programs.
In cooperation with the Executive Director, manage Board and Executive Committee Meetings.
In partnership with the membership coordinator, support the Membership Committee
In partnership with the marketing staff, support the Marketing Committee
Respond to requests in a timely, professional manner.
Support the overall goals and objectives of the organization through additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, education or marketing.
4 or more years demonstrated experience in working with membership, education or certification programs
4 or more years of experience working with Association Management Software Systems (YourMembership preferred) and/or online learning management platforms.
Previous experience in developing/executing large, complex educational programs and events.
Experience serving in a managerial or leadership position in an association or company.
Event management experience or presentation management experience with content design and speaker management, preferably in non-profit membership organizations.
Proven success in project management and problem resolution with excellent organizational, proofreading/editing and budget management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including ability to enforce organization guidelines.
Strong organizational and negotiation skills, creativity and strategic thinking with attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
Proficient with web-based tools and technology, association management software and webinar platforms, MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to travel up to 15%, 2 - 4 times per year.
