Overall Objective: The Membership Service Manager is responsible for the management and administration of all membership services. In addition, this position is responsible for formulating, implementing and managing all aspects of member recruitment and retention. This role also manages the day-to-day membership operations and database. The Membership Manager will assess the needs of the organization and create strategies to provide quality membership benefits and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain member outreach and communication strategy.
Responsible for membership customer service and troubleshooting.
Develop and implement strategies for increasing membership revenue, retention of existing members and recruitment.
Creation of new member benefits and refinement of existing benefits.
Oversee membership website page content and layout.
Coordinate with Chapter Relations on membership strategy for local boards and members.
Manage online membership process and functionality.
Develop strategies to streamline membership access and enhance online resources.
Coordinate with marketing on membership growth strategies; including campaigns and promotions.
Analyze membership data and provide reports on recruitment, retention, benefit usage and demographics.
Provide chapter membership infographic data and reports as needed.
Oversee data entry of membership records; serve as database subject matter expert.
Conduct member association research and develop strategies to target specific demographics.
Support the Senior Programs Manager with launching professional development benefits and leveraging strategic partnership services. Â
Manage membership department budget, forecast, agreements and contracts.
Create membership policies and processes and needed.
Develop membership survey and regular solicitation of membership feedback.
Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
5+ years related experience working in field of membership management, client services or non-profit/association management industry.
Experience with email marketing, social media and content management.
Strong, solution-based thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have the ability to foster the values of member relations and quality assurance in customer service.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively cultivate relationships with prospects, members, volunteers and community stakeholders.
Ability to analyze and interpret membership data and market research.
Innovative thinking skills and ability to approach problems and issues from multiple viewpoints.
