Shriners International is a fraternal organization founded to provide its members with fun and fellowship in addition to the Masonic principles or brotherly love, relief and truth. The International Headquarters of Shriners International is located in Tampa, Florida. The fraternity has over 230,000 members and 198 temples (chapters) in several countries and with thousands of clubs around the world. Members of the fraternity, “Shriners,” are known in their communities and around the world as men of character and compassion. They are easily recognized through a distinctive red fez which is worn at official functions. They actively support Shriners Hospitals for Children which they call, “the World’s Greatest Philanthropy.” Even though Shriners is a fraternity, the families of Shriners are welcomed and encouraged to participate in most activities.
