The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual in a very fast pace, deadline driven environment. In your role as Product Development Manager, you will support the implementation of the AMA’s mission by ensuring the AMA’s portfolio of products maximize their impact to constituents, and are aligned with the three strategic focus areas of Improving Health Outcomes, Accelerating Change in Medical Education and Enhancing Physician Satisfaction and Practice Sustainability.
Specifically, you will perform market, competitive and/or financial analysis in support of identifying or developing new product, expanding existing businesses or special products. You will assist in the launch of new product ideas through the newly designed AMA New Product Review process. You will assist business units with complex analytical projects, and identify and address key business issues. Finally, you will prepare presentations for senior management to make investment recommendations.
Master’s degree in business, economics, health care administration, or related field required; MBA preferred.
5+ years total business experience with 3 years health care-focused experience in consulting, government, and/or industry preferred.
5+ years’ experience managing analytical projects either as an internal or external consultant.
An ability to conduct financial and competitive analysis across multiple segments of the healthcare industry.
A demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous evidence and adapt effectively to changing circumstances.
Interpersonal skills and temperament to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a matrixed and complicated environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting in a large group setting and publication record.
An ability to do limited travel.
