Full-time Frankfort-based position is responsible for developing, organizing and presenting on-site and distance learning training sessions and preparing training material relevant to Kentucky school district governance and related school law issues. Position also assists in reviewing and drafting legislative language.
Licensed to practice law in Kentucky; a minimum of three years of school law experience; proficient legal research skills (hard copy and electronic format); proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); exceptional reasoning skills with the ability to make sound decisions and judgment; superior interpersonal, communication and diplomacy skills (both oral and written); and the ability to manage a demanding workload under tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
Work involves moderate in-state travel, with occasional evening and weekend work, including overnight stays.
Working knowledge and/or direct experience of school district procedures and operations; and familiarity with the Kentucky education community is preferred.
