The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) the largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research (O.R.), management science, and analytics is searching for a Recognition & Development Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for a wide range of activities to support the INFORMS recognition and development programs and the director. This challenging role requires someone who has exceptional organization and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects independently. The coordinator is expected to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively with other staff, members, committees, and outside vendors. The role requires someone that is self-directed and goal driven with the ability to work creatively and collaboratively in a deadline driven environment. The coordinator provides administrative support for all aspects of the department, answers inquiries and keeps materials, sites, and information up-to-date. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Professional Recognition (Awards & Scholarships) - Coordinate and organize the INFORMS awards and associated activities including committee meetings and updates, ordering/creation of award materials, accuracy and timely delivery of all award/recognition materials, maintaining webpages and Connect sites, coordinating announcement of winners, publicizing and following-up calls for award nominations, arranging for distribution of prizes and awards including obtaining all required information from recipients.
- Coordinate the Fellows annual awards luncheon, the presentation of the Fellows awards, program booklet, updates of the website; supports the selection committee with nominations, and runs the cohort election.
- Work closely with the marketing department on the awards ceremonies at the Analytics and Annual Conferences. Ensure accurate preparation and timely delivery of all materials and recognition items. Work closely with the marketing staff in the preparation of slide presentations and scripts.
- Assist in preparing needed reports, metrics and monitoring the approved budget.
- Provide administrative support to committees within the Recognition and Development department. This includes setting up meetings, scheduling committee conference calls, and when requested, taking notes and delivering formal minutes for award committees, several scholarship committees and other department related committees.
- Work closely with the Recognition & Development Director and associated volunteer leaders to coordinate the scholarship program.
- Provide administrative support for IFORS, including maintenance and reports from the membership database, preparation and follow-up of all membership invoices, managing the annual return process, recording minutes of the Administrative Committee calls, maintenance of the website and all IFORS materials and templates.
Fundraising and Development - Provide administrative support for fundraising campaigns including distribution of materials, and responding to correspondence.
- Prepare and ensure timely acknowledgement of donations. Help administer new funding solicitations and identification of new potential donors.
