Performance Expectations & Position Description
Promotes NPMA by developing and implementing activities to increase overall membership growth including membership retention and maintaining benefits and services to the members. Responsible for project management and budgetary responsibilities.
Among the Job Results Expected:
Develop and implement comprehensive membership plans that increase member retention, improve member services, and increase the general market awareness of NPMA.
Ensures timely delivery of benefits and services to members.
Use results of membership metrics to continuously improve current and future activities.
Provide efficient and timely services to members through data analysis functions and striving to meet or exceed member expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Management of Membership Recruitment and Retention
Assists Director with renewal process including coordination of membership renewals mailed and emailed.
Manages access to the online member community, including new memberships and renewals, demographics, and members only access.
Works directly with Joint State partner associations and provides monthly membership reports and coordinates updates within database.
Manages reinstatement process, survey metrics and telemarketing campaigns to regain lapsed members.
Staffs membership area at PestWorld annually and other meetings as requested.
Implements communication avenues for membership to include onboarding messaging, renewal messaging and member experience.
Management of Membership Database & Analytics
Evaluates all membership categories with regard to member need and satisfaction, organizational objectives, cost, and revenue.
Performance Expectations and Position Description
Ensures the integrity of the membership database.
Manages prospect database, coding, and validation.
Integrates membership activities among the functional areas to provide vetted membership data, usable queries and revenue projection.
Reviews and measures membership trend analyses, by regularly providing trend reports to identify and recommend improvements for NPMA retention and member experience.
Creates and reviews productivity and efficiency reports for Joint State partners.
Creates and validates queries, lists and reports for departments within NPMA.
Works with Director to review programs; maintains quality control of all NPMA materials used. Reviews and analyzes benefit annually.
Identifies new non-dues revenue sources.
Monitors revenue and expense budgets for each affinity program using historical data, forecasting techniques, and input from suppliers for creating detailed assumptions.
Works in conjunction with marketing department to promote affinity programs.
Customer Service & Project Management
Utilizes excellent customer service skills to meet organizational goals and department goals.
Meets customer needs through direct member services to include phone, email and face to face.
Serves internal customers with a strong customer service work ethic, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
Assists with development of project budgets for membership revenue and expenses using historical data and forecasting techniques.
Reviews and assists Membership Coordinator with all data entry and helps to create standard processes for data management.
Assists the Director of Membership as needed.

Education and/or Experience.
Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, or BBA), or equivalent combination of education and experience, and three-to-five years of related experience and/or training in membership, affiliates/chapter relations, business development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A strong understanding of database management is required. Excellence in leadership, interpersonal, and vendor management is needed.
Overnight and weekend travel will be required in order to attend tradeshows and NPMA conferences sometimes held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Representing Staff and Board.
Must possess strong leadership skills and a customer service work ethic.
Personal conduct, ethics, and integrity must represent the highest standards, be in accord with NPMA policy and serve as an example of excellence to all members and to all other staff members.
Other Skills and Abilities Required.
Effective problem-solving skills; thorough understanding of the consequences of any particular marketing activity; ability to effectively establish work priorities.
Must possess strong conceptual skills, and an ability to work successfully with intangibles, such as attitudes and buying behaviors.
Must possess strong managerial and supervisory skills.
Must possess effective skills in analytics, AMS and reporting.
Understanding of relational databases and computer fields must include their use in the generation of standard reports.
Experience using Internet-based strategies for membership recruitment and retention.
