The Independent Schools Experiential Education Network's (ISEEN) vision for Experiential Education is transformative teaching and learning in an interconnected world; ISEEN seeks to lead, inform, connect, expand, and steward transformational experiential teaching and learning.
Overview of the Position:
Responsible for the day-to-day execution of all operational work and tasks that characterize the programs, quality, reputation, and connections related to ISEEN. Responsible for working in partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to prioritize staff responsibilities, determine appropriate division of tasks, and set time commitments.
The Operations Director will report to and work in partnership with the Executive Director supporting the needs of an exciting and thriving educational non-profit. ISEEN’s main products are two annual four-day institutes for independent school educators. The main focus of the position will be supporting the logistical and planning needs of both institutes. The Operations Director will be expected to travel to and be extensively involved with the execution of both institutes including 1-2 prep days onsite prior to institute starts. Other responsibilities will include website and membership database management, logistical support of Board retreats and future regional meetings, and potential additional tasks that support the needs of the organization. The Executive Director and Operations Director will be in regular communication (up to weekly Skype/FT calls during busy periods) and regular email contact throughout the year. This position has the potential for growth and development, depending on the skills and experience of the person hired.
Highly detailed oriented; ability to stay on top of both minute tasks and big picture goals (project management experience is required).
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks.
Ability to accomplish projects and be accountable to tasks with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person, electronically, and on the phone, with high professionalism.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient using the web to conduct research.
Comfortable and adaptive user of Excel and various online technology platforms
Experience with web communications, publishing, and social media a plus
An understanding of experiential education and independent schools is desirable, but not required as long as there is an interest in learning.
As the Executive Director is based in the Washington, DC area, local qualified candidates preferred. Remote work is a possibility.
Education level: BA required

Independent Schools Experiential Education Network (ISEEN) is an educational non-profit organization that is an international learning laboratory and networking opportunity through which independent school educators, administrators and classroom teachers share challenges and successes, learn from model programs and practices, and explore the developing role of experiential education within our schools.
ISEEN has a total of two employees who work closely together to organize professional development conferences for educators (currently 2-3 institutes per year) as well as manage all the behind the scenes work in regards to membership benefits, sponsors, strategic partners, social media, tech platforms, etc.
