The Director, Information Technology is responsible for IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering collaboration, innovation, prioritization of IT initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT systems across the AIHA enterprise.
Ensures that best in class technology and service are aligned both strategically and tactically with organizational objectives.
Manages the IT capital and operating budgets.
Provides and oversees third-party technical service support, including installation, maintenance, data communication and software training support.
Identifies and manages either directly, or through direct reports, the effective use of AIHA association management system and other software platforms necessary to achieve strategic initiatives.
Working with outside vendors, develops standard operating procedures for personal computer, network, association database and other software platforms.
Consults with and provides day-to-day technical support to staff on infrastructure software applications, peripheral equipment, security functions.
Works with staff to identify future requirements for their functional areas, including but not limited to digital delivery of information, learning management systems, and smart device applications.
Supervises staff of two.

Interest in empowering staff to become more self-sufficient in managing IT systems.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including four board meetings (held over weekends) and several conferences annually.
Software/hardware skills desired: AMS/CRM programs (ACGI Associations Anywhere experience highly desired); Microsoft SharePoint; Microsoft Windows and Office platform; laptop computers; VPN and remote networking; Cloud data storage; Smartphones, tablets and other smart devices.
Bachelor's degree in information technology or management, business or a related field from four-year college or university; 7-10 years of related experience and/or training including in a leadership role; or equivalent combination. Supervisory experience. Experience working with a scientific or technical society and/or a Master’s degree a plus.
