Government Relations, Project Management/Program Development
The Development Manager, Strategic Partnerships is the primary grant writer for the organization. The Development Manager will be responsible for all aspects of organization's fundraising efforts from private, government and corporate foundations. This manager collaborates with other employees to develop new funding opportunities and ensures all grant deliverables.
Create and manage annual plan for foundation fundraising and manage the overall process of soliciting and stewarding support from private, government and corporate foundations, supporting organization’s domestic and international programming.
Work with organization staff to develop and write high-quality grant proposals and reports while meeting funder requirements, deadlines and specifications.
Generate leads, cultivate prospects, and develop relationships with program officers from the different agencies.
Write solicitation letters and other materials as needed.
Other tasks as assigned, including support of organization’s corporate fund-raising activities, department events and special initiatives including supporting organization’s events
Work across departments to ensure various deliverables associated with funded proposals are achieved.
At least three years of grant-writing experience that includes experience in developing relationships with program officers.
Excellent writing skills.
Proven track record in fund development that includes obtaining support domestically and internationally (i.e. USAID, US/Indo Forum, etc.).
Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple assignments through clear and direct communication.
Strong ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent professional judgment and ability to maintain confidential information.
Knowledge of initiating and prospecting new foundation relationships, strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills, excellent organization and time management skills.
Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence by developing and maintaining external relationships with clients and colleagues.
Strong proficiency in basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and prior experience in a CRM platform/ Salesforce sales cloud platform a plus.
This position may require some travel in the development of relationships with program officers and funders along with support of SWE’s Annual Conference and other regional events.
