AACC, a DC-based dynamic, growing international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, research scientists focused on clinical chemistry and related disciplines, is seeking a Manager, IT Support & Network Operations.
The Manager, IT Support & Network Operations proactively oversees AACC’s IT technical and network operations support functions. Manage multiple internal and external resources to ensure excellent end-user support and maximum systems availability. Effectively manage various IT projects as assigned. Provide hands-on assistance as needed, as well as timely communication and follow-up.
Provide IT technical support for all computer hardware, software, network, audio-visual equipment. Deploy and manage internal and external resources as appropriate to ensure timely problem diagnosis and resolution.
Manage all IT Support help desk tickets. Assign tickets to appropriate resources, and include all relevant information available to facilitate efficient processing and end-user support. Enter applicable data into tickets to help create a useful knowledgebase for future reference.
Develop and maintain a detailed IT orientation package covering computer hardware, software, network, audio-visual equipment, and telephone system usage. Provide hands-on training to all new staff.
Maintain accurate asset inventories including computer hardware, software, peripherals, audio visual equipment, and mobile devices. Create and implement hardware replacement schedules.
Troubleshoot network and Internet connectivity problems. Develop and implement ISP failover infrastructure with regularly scheduled tests. Report any problems and vulnerabilities to the CIO.
Create and maintain IT standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, and cheat sheets as requested.
Oversee various IT projects as assigned, deploying appropriate resources, and managing schedules, scope, and budget.
Provide or arrange end-user training for new and existing systems.
Provide consistent and timely updates to end users and management in order to meet deadline commitments and manage expectations.
Maintain a current knowledge and awareness of technological advancements, new procedures and industry best practices.
Travel to and attend Association meetings as required.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from accredited college or university program in computer science, or Technical certifications and 5+ of hands-on IT and network support experience.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
In-depth familiarity with network security concepts, and networking/desktop technologies.
Ability to work effectively with staff and vendors to resolve desktop and network problems.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Familiarity with Association Management Systems (AMS – Aptify)
This position may supervise an IT intern.
