The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) is the nation's largest private statewide employer association in New Jersey. We are currently seeking a full-time Membership Recruitment Representative who will utilize existing and create new sales funnels, to initiate outreach communications with prospective members, seeking to understand the mission and business needs of prospect organizations, and effectively convey the value proposition of NJBIA membership, to bring organizations into the NJBIA community as new members. This position requires travel to our main office in Trenton, our magazine office in Fairfield, and around the State as necessary.
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 plus Commission
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruit new members through existing sales model across a defined prospect pool
Collaborate with Marketing to execute targeted campaigns
Utilize all forms of technology including social media to leverage NJBIA’s membership benefits as part of marketing efforts
Build relationships through consultative phone and on site appointments with key decision makers in prospective organizations to discuss their business issues, and convey the value proposition of NJBIA membership and services
Attend events and conferences as required to recruit new businesses
Conduct on site and webinar presentations to educate prospective members on our services
Support current member engagement activities
Meet defined quarterly and annual revenue goals and manage membership sales pipeline
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitors
Understand the business climate of prospects as well as key issues affecting business in NJ
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of five years successful sales experience, preferably in membership sales
Knowledge and experience with sales programs (Hubspot preferred) and database systems
Strong MS office skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue goals
Must have exceptional public speaking and presentation skills
Proven negotiation and persuasion skills
Interest in the NJ business community and interest in NJBIA’s mission and members.
