The American College of Physicians (ACP) is looking for a Vice President of Membership Administration & Engagement for the Executive Office. ACP, a national organization of internal medicine physicians with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with more than 161,000 members worldwide.
Reporting to the Chief Membership and Engagement Officer (CMEO), the Vice President provides operational and financial leadership and oversight of membership development programs and membership dues models to maximize member engagement and dues revenues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Leading market research and gap analyses to inform and develop membership recruitment and retention strategies, including innovative dues models and ongoing data and analytics needs
- Collaborating with staff to develop a process for the ongoing assessment/analysis of membership revenue, evolving membership needs, and the impact of membership development and engagement programs
- Designing a comprehensive, longitudinal approach to member recruitment, retention, and engagement across their careers in internal medicine
- Making data-driven recommendations that incorporate risk assessment for dues models and changes to the CMEO and Executive Office.
- Helping to craft ACP’s membership value proposition, and developing strategies to communicate it to members and non-members across various media platforms
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in business, non-profit leadership, or healthcare administration required (MBA strongly preferred) with demonstrated success in membership development for a healthcare organization.
- Established record of significant healthcare leadership that includes effective collaboration working within an organizational environment; leading teams; developing and executing strategic plans; metric-driven analytics; market research; dues modeling; maximizing revenue and creating and implementing new programs and initiatives.
- Ability to understand and access trends in the healthcare and medical practice environment and marketplace dynamics as they impact membership value, retention and recruitment in a professional medical association.
- Highly desirable abilities or experiences include:
- leadership role in a professional membership organization;
- assessing membership/organizational engagement experiences;
- developing or modifying engagement programs to support membership/organizational recruitment and retention;
- effectively communicating at the board or senior organizational leadership level;
